About Christy Sallada, Registered Nurse

Christy was born and raised in Lebanon Pa. The desire to become a nurse started when she watched the care received by her grandfather while undergoing treatment for Leukemia at Hershey Medical Center as a young child. 

She became a certified nursing assistant as soon as she was able to and worked as an aid in Long Term Care facilities through her senior year in high school before graduating. Christy attended Harrisburg Area Community College for her Paralegal Degree and briefly worked at the Lebanon County District Attorney’s office as a Victim Witness Advocate. She worked with victims of all crimes, including sexual assault and assisted them through the court processes. 

It wasn’t long before she felt called back to nursing and returned to working as an aid while going to school to obtain her RN degree. After obtaining her nursing license Christy worked in various settings, including Intensive Care, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, Nurse Assessment Coordinator and Marketing/Business Development. She obtained her American Heart Association CPR and First Aid instructor certifications in 2012 and volunteers teaching local first responders CPR. 

Throughout her nursing career, Christy showed true passion for promoting wellbeing in her patients and helping them to become advocates in their own healthcare. In 2022 Christy started courses to become a Registered Nurse Integrative Health Coach, obtaining her certification in 2023 from the American Holistic Nurses Association. She has started her own health coaching business; Directing Wellness Health Coaching, focused on empowering clients with knowledge, motivation and confidence to make lifestyle changes allowing them to lead their optimal life. 

Christy has also been a volunteer first responder since 2014 holding various positions in several organizations including K9 Handler and Deputy Chief for Lebanon County Special Unit 66 Search and Rescue since 2017. She has also volunteered since 2012 with a breed specific German Shepherd rescue group and briefly sat on the board of the Pennsylvania State Working Animal Foundation.
